Anne Moore

Anne Moore (born 1967, Scotland) makes film and installation video art. By studying signs, signification and non-verbal communication, the film considers the nature of existentialism in a multi-layered way, using a phenomenology of perception to involve the viewer in a manner that is visceral and believes that the language of moving

Making work that generates diverse meanings, associations and metaphors merge. Time and narrative structures are confused and subverted.

Responding to the surrounding environment, the artist uses everyday experiences from the artist’s life as a starting point. Often these are unremarkable instances that would go unnoticed in their original context: moments evocative of atmosphere and suspense that are not part of a visible narrative thread.

Anne Moore currently lives in Totnes and studies BA (Hons) Photography at Plymouth College of Art.
